OnePeople Fund

As part of our #CreateTomorrow campaign, with its dual focus on rebuilding the economy while uplifting the most vulnerable, parking came with purpose. With the re-implementation of paid parking under Level 3 lockdown, Eastgate Shopping Centre donated 50% of parking income to OnePeople Fund – an initiative which provides food to vulnerable communities. Eastgate donated R275 000 to this important initiative.

About OnePeople Fund

• ~25% of South Africa’s ~60 million people live in informal settlements called townships and >50% do not have enough money to buy food at the moment.
• In response, the OnePeople Fund was formed by Capstone Property Group & Exemplar REITail, in partnership with Click Foundation (a Section 18A registered, non-profit Trust).
• The Fund buys maize in bulk and distributes it in partnership with local Non-Profits, distributing ~370,000+ meals each week to many of South Africa’s most vulnerable.
